Everyday Kit
I run nearly every day. This gives me ample opportunity to dial in what works and what doesn't. Here are the things use just about every time I go for a run:
These days I am running in one of two pairs of LaSportiva shoes for daily runs, the Lycan or the Akasha. Over the last year I have run around 2000 miles in Akashas and they work well for very long runs, rough terrain and even mud. The Lycan is new this year and north of 500 miles in them I can say they are amazing for dry trails, and long runs.
For clothing you will pretty much find me using the Patagonia Strider Pro 5" short, and the Capilene LW T. These two products have been refined over the last several years and work well for just about any run you can throw at them. Coupled with a Duckbill trucker also from Patagonia and the clothing is spot on. I try hard to protect my eyes from the harsh sun, especially when I am up high in the mountains, Zeal optics makes biodegradable, stylish sunglasses that work great for running. Currently my go to is the Radium. Not pictured is my Suunto Spartan Ultra that I use to track all of my training and that also serves as an incredible tool for navigation. As well as my Jaybird RUN ear buds that allow me to use my running time as a time to listen to books, podcasts or to just tune out to some punk rock.
